To answer Harvey's question, the man explained a story which Harvey assumed to be tied with the bible, followed by the verdict of anyone able to feel guilty for hurting someone does, indeed, have a soul. Harvey thought for a moment. Did he feel that? Before he could answer himself, the man asked who gave him the idea that he had no soul. Ah. He glanced at his wounded hand then went for another shot. His eyes were watering with the taste and strength, and he was sure his mouth was going numb, but his curiosity of what would come was greater than what the whiskey's taste did. He was about to answer when the woman spoke up,
"Wow... You're really into all of this religion stuff, aren't you? I don't mean to be rude or anything, I just have no religion of my own and I have to ask what the big deal is with it all." Harvey looked at her. He was somewhat curious about religion, but wasn't the point of it to explain the afterlife and provide explanations for things unexplained? At least, that was what he gathered. Maybe there was something more. Did it have to do with souls? He downed another shot. He coughed a bit of it out as it hit his throat, but upon swallowing he began to feel a slight sensation in his head, almost as if he were sleepy. Was this it? He stared at the glass then slid it back and forth to his hands. Due to the bandages it didn't hurt when it hit his left, so he kept it up as he waited for the man to answer the girl's question.

'Mmmm,' Chuck nodded. ‘It ain’t rude, you’re just curious, is all. Don’t worry ‘bout it.’ He paused to pour himself another shot, wondering why the bottle felt lighter. Of course his religion would be questioned one day. Recently, the why has been a difficult point in regards to his beliefs. He figured he’d be honest. Drink was making it a hell of a lot easier. ‘I guess there’s some consolation knowing that my beloved is in a better place with the good Lord in heaven.’ Another shot down.
‘I guess for some folks, it just becomes a guide for them. Like Jesus; He taught us to “Love one another as I have loved you”. There are also a bunch of other rules and stuff…’ He trailed off. He practically forgot what the question was. This was either good – by showing Chuck how unaccustomed to drink he’s become – or bad by impairing his judgment. He wondered if he really was becoming senile like some of the more capable accuse of him.

She didn't know how the other Oculi had felt, but she was simply amazed on how the human race had to make up something in order to fill gaps on what they didn't know. Obviously this old man had only did it from what she heard was for him to believe that his beloved was in a good place. It did make sense for him to believe it though, seeing that he would not know what would happen to his mate, or wife as the humans called their female pair. Though it seemed to be structured with rules as well, which did for sure showed how the humans wanted things to be followed with rules. After-all, without them the whole world would constantly be like this. It made her a little glum on the inside.
Her species had caused all this suffering, and for what? Just so they could make a perfect race in replacement of the humans? Even the Oculi weren't perfect, and it took a lot of guts for her to even think that. She wanted to know more on what she had read in her containment. Maybe the library? She knew those places had lots of books in there, even the banned ones that the Oculi weren't allowed to read since religion was a bad thing for them. What a load of crap.
She got off of the table she was sitting and nodded at the old man. "Thank you very much, sir. And please, take care of yourself." It was probably the nicest thing she said in a long time, or even ever. She didn't know. She turned around and began to walk away, though she leaned to the Oculi's ear and whispered to him. "Watch yourself, Oculi. I just killed a Hunter up there and there might be more to try and find a trail to me other Oculi. Oh, and watch your drinking habits, or you will become diseased." With that, she walked out of the bar and stalked in the shadows in search of a library. Keeping an eye out for other hunters she could encounter on the way.

The man answered the other woman's questions, which opened up more meaning behind religion, but not as much as Harvey was hoping for. He still didn't understand. He took another shot (it was becoming easier to take them, not because he was used to to the taste, but because his senses seemed to be becoming duller) as the woman stood up to leave, wishing the man a good day. She spoke to Harvey and warned him there could be an Oculi hunter nearby, and to watch his drinking. She had left by the time Harvey spoke up to say "Diseased? Dar'in', Oculi can' get diseased." He laughed giddily. He reached for a last shot and downed it. He could feel the effects now, but it wasn't something he could describe. He blinked a few times, then decided it might be best for him to leave. If an enemy was on their way, he wouldn't want to put the man in danger. He wouldn't be able to defend himself in this state, anyway.
He stood up, and as soon as the blood rushed he nearly tipped. He managed to catch himself and figured balance issues were an effect of alcohol. Fascinating. "W-well, Mr. Sir, I believe stickin' around here would--would be bad for us both. So. M-maybe we can meet another time, but for now, I w-wish you g'day." He took a breath to steady himself then made his way for the exit. He grabbed the doorway to gather himself, then shook his head and continued his way down the road. He decided drinking was fun, but maybe for a time where there wasn't constant danger.
