Name: Chuck
Species: Human/Normal
Gender: Male
Appearance: ‘I haven’t had a chance to shave in a while.’
Chuck is clearly an older gentleman to say the least. He’s probably around his mid seventies. You could almost tell by looking at the lean black man that he had quite the build back in his prime. His hair seems to have migrated from his head to his chin, making a nice beard. He covers his bald spot with a beige fedora that looks older than he is. He also wears a white dress shirt and suspenders. Chuck also has a terrible limp from arthritis and walks with a cane.
Personality: ‘A man should be the same in his home as he is in public.’
Doesn’t think of himself as anything special, but everyone else knows him as the most religious man in town. Too old to serve in the war, he’s served as kind of a guidance councilor for the many who have also been left behind. He doesn’t necessarily give good advice; he just knows how to listen really well. He’d sit for hours just listening to a single person talk, and Chuck knows that might be all it takes to console a person. When he is ever asked for advice, he’d usually recall an appropriate biblical story and let others figure out things for themselves.
As for Oculi, he doesn’t see any reason to fight them. He doesn’t care whether someone is an Oculi or not, nor does he seem to see any difference between them and normal humans. He doesn’t involve himself with the conflict, and likes to ‘leave it in God’s hands.’ That being said, he is fine with dying now. He no longer thinks he has a purpose in life.
History: ‘Ain’t much to say. Ain’t important anyway.’
Chuck was not always religious. His first marriage didn’t end so well. He truly loved his first wife, but she was lost to the drink. He was forced to leave her to her vices. Crushed, he turned to God for guidance, which is how he met his second wife Betty. They never had any children, but he ended up staying married to Betty until the war broke out. She was shot during the early riots and attacks. Chuck was lucky enough to be there the moment she died. Chuck came to terms with her death, and forgave the person that shot her. This was when he made peace with God.
